“…the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5

The lantern of Love shines a brilliance

Untested, unknown, unraveling and clear,

Shines before the children of God

To show that darkness never owns them.

There will be seasons when light is dim

There will be times of suffering

There will be moments of doubt and fear

There will be angels, dark and dangerous.

Yet, these are times where faith can win

Joy can conquer, evil dispelled

Purpose found in darkest nights

Can build, reset, revive and renew.

God owns darkness as he does light,

Darkness like a dog on leash

Paces back and forth reminded

By the tug at rope’s end, he is slave.

So, saints be brave in darkness

It has not overcome the Light

Fight, fight and pray in era’s

That look like Satan’s winning it all.

Here is where our prayers are answered

Here is where our love turns red

The sacrifice of Light’s human form

Has overcome the lies of the dead.

Follow light and life will find you

Enjoy the thrills of deepening love

There is nothing that can touch you,

But that God wills, and in you grows.
