The seven skaters looked at us like we just landed our spacecraft. The best tact, direct and to the point: “We’re here to talk with you about Christianity!” Seven skateboards, seven suspicious souls. Some rolled their eyes, and others went to leave. But something kept their feet on those boards. We had an honest conversation about the church, how one becomes a true Christ follower, and why each of them view Christ as being irrelevant in their lives. We asked if they would have any interest in meeting for two weeks for an hour each time to discuss the Bible. They told us yes that would work if in the park, and for only an hour. Seven skaters on a migration from faith, but at least today, taking pause to consider Jesus.
